We conclude our three part series on this summer’s upcoming blockbuster movies with an in depth look at Marvel’s reboot of the Spider-Man series, The Amazing Spider-Man. Wasn't it just yesterday that the last Spider-Man came out? At any rate, Spider-Man fans have been waiting a long time for this film—five years—and it looks like they’re going to like what they see!
As you may have heard, after the 2007 release of Spider-Man 3, Spider-Man 4 entered development. However, after multiple script rewrites, and the withdrawal of director Sam Raimi, it became clear that the sequel was not going to take place. This is what led to the “reboot” of the series under new director Marc Webb. Tobey Maguire was also replaced by Andrew Garfield to play the role of Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
The Amazing Spider-Man follows Peter Parker as he struggles to learn the truth about the disappearance of his parents, and how he gained his powers as Spider-Man. The film introduces Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone, and a number of other characters. Although the trailer contains some humor, the script has been described as “gritty.” A sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, has already been announced for May 2014. It seems as if nothing can stop comic-inspired movie dynasties!
So far, we have three wall decor options for this film: one standard pack of wall decals and two giant wall decals. It was really difficult for us to choose what to produce for this franchise; for a while, one of the walls in our studio was covered in various designs and prototypes. (Bet you would have liked to be a fly—err, a spider—on our walls for those discussions, huh?) We finally settled on the two large designs you see above, both of which use photos taken right from the movie.
You may also be excited to learn that we’re planning to add Spider-Man art to our custom wall decal studio very soon.
