Lorrene's Creative Family Tree

Comments (2)

As previous posts on our blog have shown, there’s a lot that you can do with our Tree Branches wall decals! We’ve seen everything from a jewelry storage solution to holiday trees, and the ideas just keep coming. We recently received an email from Lorrene, who decided to put her own spin on the popular family tree idea submitted to us by the Clay Family. Lorrene wrote:

I love RoomMates because of the easy application and being able to move and cut them without any trouble at all. When I saw the [Tree Branches wall decals] I thought “this is perfect, I'll make my own family tree.” Now I have my family [photos] all around and not scattered all around the room.

Lorrene used the Tree Branches wall decals to join together a series of framed photographs spread out on her walls. Her family tree is very wide, and the branches are spread out out a good distance away from the trunk. Here are two photographs she sent us:

This is a pretty neat application, isn’t it? Lorrene was able to apply, reposition, and even cut the branches to fit between her photos. The elements look like they are being used to connect together related family members, which is a great idea as well: if you have a big family, identify a “trunk” for your tree—a central family member or couple—and then “branch” out from there, using smaller branches to connect one relative to another.

Lorrene also had some very kind things to say about her experience with RoomMates:

I just wanted to add to my comments that you don't have to be a decorator to use RoomMates. You just have an imagination, and then the possibilities are endless. Now that I know how fast and easy RoomMates are, I'll be using them in other rooms in my house. Thank you, RoomMates, for bringing my family together.

I wholeheartedly agree! With a little imagination, each and every one of our wall decals can be customized in some way. Our Tree Branches are definitely one of the most customizable options, but with a little imagination, anything can become a work of art. There are so many ideas that we haven’t even thought of yet, which is why we love receiving your photos and decorating stories. They inspire us to continue making creative, easy to use wall decals, and in turn, we hope that inspires you to make your home a beautiful place for you and your family to enjoy.

Thanks to Lorrene for sharing her project with us! Remember: if you have a decorating story of your own that you’d like to share, we’d love to see it. If your photos are chosen to be featured on our blog, we’ll reward you with a $25 gift certificate to our site. Visit our customer submissions page to learn more!

Hi Sharon, it looks like Lorrene is using standard photo frames with nails. However, you could use wall-friendly picture hanging strips (like those from 3M) instead, or even something like poster putty. You can find these at home improvement stores. Thanks!
