Nicole's Customized Scroll Tree Bedroom

This month marks the two year anniversary of the introduction of our Scroll Tree MegaPack. I can’t believe it’s been a whole two years already! After its first appearance in the May 2010 issue of Family Fun magazine, our Facebook page and email inboxes were flooded with queries about this quirky, colorful design. Since its release, we’ve received a ton of positive reviews and awesome customer photographs of the tree in action, like Sarah’s room transformation, Rachel’s adorable playhouse, Jessica’s supersized tree, and Lauren’s little tree on vibrant green paint.

What better way is there to celebrate the start of our third year with this design than with another great customer submission? This one comes to us courtesy of Nicole L., who used the Scroll Tree in her daughter’s nursery. Like many new moms, Nicole was decorating on a budget, and wanted to dress up the room in a big way without needing to re-paint. Enter RoomMates! Nicole wrote us:

I had already had the room painted just the plain green—and when we found out we were having a girl I was looking for [decor] so we didn't have to repaint. I had just happened to run across the Scroll Tree and fell in love with it! I loved the bright colors and how cute it was! It also went with the green/brown/pink color scheme I liked. A huge bonus was the price! I was able to decorate our daughter’s nursery on a budget. I found that Target had a very similar theme and was able to get a valance & lamp to match.

There are a couple really unique things I’d like to point out about what Nicole did with her application of the Scroll Tree decals. First of all, her tree is applied in a corner, and partially wraps around the crib, which I think is really cute. Secondly, as sharp-eyed fans may have noticed, the tree in the photo above is backwards! I’ll let her Nicole tell you in her own words what she did here:

My only issue was that the instructions showed [the Scroll Tree’s main branch] going to the left, but I needed it to go to the right. Since this decal is so versatile, I was able to make some minor changes to fit my needs! I followed the instructions to start but then just flip-flopped a few branches to meet my needs and used the instructions as a "guide" to fill everything else in. I LOVE how it turned out. […] If you notice I loved it so much I even made myself a mobile to match. :)

Did you notice the mobile? Nicole handmade a mobile to match the little birds on the Scroll Tree. Not only is it an adorable addition to the nursery, it’s also another element that ties together the theme of the room. I first spotted this on Pinterest a few weeks ago and fell in love with it there, so I’m really glad Nicole is allowing us to share her photos here, too.
