I try not to play favorites when it comes to the photos sent in by our customers and fans, because I’m honestly delighted by any picture I see that has RoomMates in it. But as my friend Silvia from Guatemala can tell you, after I saw the first photo of her playroom, I was so in love with her use of our wall decals that I instantly asked for more!
Silvia and Sergio used our Dotted Tree giant wall decal and Colorful Dots wall decals in combination in a playroom for their three young daughters. As Silvia wrote us in a recent email:
We wanted our girls´ room to be both a spacious and peaceful place. We had in mind a wall decoration that alluded to nature that would be simple and agreeable. We were thinking of drawing on the wall a few hills and a celestial sky, as well as painting a tree and some animals. However, we have found that the RoomMates products, specifically the Dotted Tree wall decal, are a perfect complement to our idea. The tree is a simple one, and the green of the leaves matches the green of the hills very well.
Also, we found the Colorful Dots, Colorful Letters, and Colorful Numbers. We chose the dots because they give a sensation of movement and happiness. The variety of colors and sizes made us think about our girls: each one of them of different age, size and personality, but all full of joy. I placed the dots on the wall opposite the Dotted Tree, where I also have a bulletin board and bookshelf.

I am not normally the squealing type, but I have to confess that I actually did squeal—out loud—when I saw Silvia’s photos of her daughters putting up the Dotted Tree. I love their playroom! In the photos, you can see that one wall is hand-painted with rolling green hills, a pale blue sky, and some fluffy white clouds. This is an absolutely adorable backdrop for the tree, and makes it look like a full outdoors scene. The opposite wall has the Colorful Dots spread out, which is probably one of my favorite applications of these decals. The dots definitely add a pop of color to what might have otherwise been a plain blue wall.
Silvia, Sergio, and their daughters all seem quite happy with the finished room. Silvia said that “their playroom looks like one from a magazine,” and I have to agree. I am glad to hear that they loved it as much as I do! The three girls are very lucky to have such a fun, cheerful place in which to play and learn.
Thanks so much to Silvia and Sergio for sharing their photos and decorating story with us! I am so glad that I’ve been given the opportunity to pass this one on to all of you reading, because I think you’ll be just as delighted by it as I was when I saw that first photo. Feel free to leave any comments you may have for Silvia, and I’ll be sure to send them on to her via email!
