Today, we’re proud to announce that we’ve added a brand new feature to our custom wall decal studio. We’ve launched a new section that will allow you to create a wall decal from the ground up—or customize an existing design—with your favorite popular characters from Disney and Nickelodeon, including Disney Princess, Toy Story, Cars, Dora the Explorer, and Spongebob Squarepants.
We’ve been working on this behind the scenes for many weeks, and are extremely excited about the new possibilities this brings! The option to design with your favorite Disney or Nickelodeon characters allows anyone to create a design that is customized just for them. You can design from the ground up, using high quality art of characters, backgrounds, quotes, and more… or simply personalize one of our designer-created templates to make it your own.
If you’ve never used our interactive wall decal design studio before, I encourage you to give it a try. It’s really easy to use, but also gives you a ton of options that allow you to create or personalize a wall decal in multiple sizes and two shapes.
We know how daunting it can be to create something from scratch, so we’ve tried to make the process a little easier on you. When you pick the characters you’d like to design with, you’ll be presented with a screen full of templates created by talented RoomMates staff members. You can either pick one of these templates, and customize it as you please, or start from scratch on a blank canvas. Either way, you can add and remove art, type in words or phrases and change the font, add backgrounds and borders… and so much more.
One really fun thing we’ve added is the option to use different “themes” within each section. For example, if you click on Disney Princess, you’ll have the option to choose between Glow Within and Princess Noveaux. Each theme has completely different art, which means a custom wall decal from one theme will look completely different than a decal from the other. Try out both to see which one you like best! We’re also planning on adding more themes in the future, which means there will be even more to choose from.
Finally, you can save your designs simply by clicking the “Save Design” option in the studio. This means you can work on a design at your own pace, or save something that you might want to have us print again later. To open a design you’ve saved, just click the “Open a Saved Design” button.

One final note: unfortunately, as of right now, this section of the custom wall decal studio is only available to our customers in the US. However, we’re already hard at work on adding new options and characters that will be available to both the US and Canada.
