Trina's Terrific Transportation Room

Comments (6)

One piece of feedback that we consistently hear from customers and fans is that our wall decals are very easy to change as kids grow up and their tastes change. This is one of the comments that Trina made in her email to us about her son’s room. She needed to transform a “serene” and “minimally decorated” nursery into a bedroom suitable for a toddler. Trina writes:

When it was time to switch over from a crib to a toddler bed, I knew I wanted to change things up a bit. By that time, our son had taken an interest in all things that “go.” Cars, trucks, buses, trains, planes, fire engines—he loved them all and it was so much fun watching him get so excited about them! As a result, I was on a quest to find the most fun, colorful, and creative decorations for his room that included his new favorite thing: transportation.

Trina and her husband searched at several stores and online until they found our website and our Transportation wall decals. They felt that the decals were a great match for their son’s new bedding, curtains, and rug, and liked how they showed different types of vehicles, not just cars or planes. After the decals arrived, Trina and her husband got to work on putting up a fun “road,” then applying the stickers to the wall.

Here are just a few of the photos we received:

What a fun room for a little boy! Trina loved the way our wall decals worked, and mentioned that they were moved around multiple times without losing their sticky qualities. She writes:

We tried a few different layouts and finally agreed on one we both loved. My husband and I had a lot of fun decorating our son’s walls that day and it’s a very special memory for us. A major reason we were able to enjoy that time was because the process was so easy: we had the flexibility to move things around without ruining the wall stickers. […] But the best part was seeing our son’s face when we surprised him with his new room. Day after day and night after night he would point to each vehicle and say “look Mommy, car, truck, taxi,” and so on. It was also a great way to reinforce colors and differences in the vehicles with him.

Trina says that her son’s room is now “a happy place” and her favorite space in their house! We’re happy to have contributed to the transformation of this nursery into a fun transportation-themed room for her son. She also says that the room will be easy to change as he grows, since our wall decals can be removed and replaced with a new set in a matter of minutes.

Thanks so much for sharing your photos and decorating story with us, Trina! Don’t forget: if you have a story of your own to share, you could see your photos right here on our blog—and take home a $25 gift certificate to our store! Just visit this page for all the details. We look forward to hearing from you!

I love this!  Where did you get the road from?  I don't see that anywhere!

Jackelyn, I'm not 100% sure where this particular road is from, but I can reach out to Trina via email to ask if you would like. We do have a somewhat similar design on our website here: www.roommatespeelandstick.com/.../...l-decals.aspx

Hi Shannon and Jennifer, I'm not 100% sure on this based on the photos we have, but it looks like the road might be from Blik. They have a set called "Race Ya" that looks fairly similar. Their website is whatisblik.com and you can find the road in "Kids."
