Announcing the Winner of our Star Wars Giveaway!

Last week we announced a giveaway of three new and currently unreleased Star Wars wall decal designs in conjunction with the theatrical re-release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 3D. We've drawn our lucky winner and are ready to announce the winning comment here, but before that, here's something really interesting we found out about the Star Wars fans who commented!

In order to be eligible for the giveaway, we asked that fans leave a comment on the giveaway post telling us who their favorite Star Wars character was. The results were surprising, and we were especially thrilled to see that many of you told us not only about your own favorite, but the favorites of your family members and friends. As I read over the comments this morning, I thought it would be fun to compile your favorites into a list, so you can see just how popular each character is. A total of fifteen different characters were represented in the comments, from all generations of the Star Wars series. Here's what we found:

1. Yoda (21 votes)
2. Darth Vader (7 votes) or Anakin Skywalker (4 votes)
3. R2-D2 (9 votes)
4. Darth Maul (5 votes)
5. Obi-Wan Kenobi (4 votes)
6. Tie: C-3PO, Han Solo (3 votes each)
7. Tie: General Grievous, Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker (2 votes each)
8. Other (Greedo, Stormtrooper, Jango Fett, and Boba Fett) (1 vote each)

As you can see, Yoda was by far the most popular character among those of you who commented. There was also a strong showing for R2-D2, as well as the Sith villain of The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul. We'll be releasing a giant wall decal of Darth Maul around the same time as the new designs we were giving away, so this should be great news for some of you!
