With the exception of custom items, you may return unused merchandise, for any reason, within 30 days of the date of your original purchase from our website. RoomMates will process a credit to your credit card less original shipping and handling, 10% restocking fee, and return freight. You must follow the return process below to receive your credit.
To request a return, log in to your RoomMates account and go to your Order History page. Click the "Details" button to the right of the order containing an item you would like to return. Check the box next to each item you would like to return, then click the "Return Items" button. You will then be presented with the Return Form. Please complete the form as indicated and click the "Submit" button at the bottom. Once we have reviewed your return request, we will email you with a return authorization number if your return was accepted.
Alternately, if you do not have an account on our website, you can call us at 800-236-4520, or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a return authorization number. Please include your order number with your email.
Upon acceptance of your return request, an return authorization number will be issued via email. Please include, within the return packaging, a copy of your original receipt with the return authorization number noted. Merchandise can be returned (via the shipper of your choice) to the following address:

Once we have received your merchandise in unused condition, we will issue a credit to your credit card. All returns must be accompanied by a valid RA number, and are subject to a 10% restocking fee and return shipping fee. Products must be returned within 60 days of an issued RA in order to be eligible for credit.
Defective or Damaged Merchandise
We stand behind our products! RoomMates will gladly replace wall decals that are damaged or otherwise made unusable due to manufacturing or shipping defects. Please contact us to request replacement merchandise within 30 days of your original purchase. Please include your order number and a description of the problem. In some cases we may request a photograph of your defective wall decal, which helps us better identify the problem and determine a solution.
Outside Purchase Returns
If you would like to return or exchange RoomMates items purchased from another retailer (either online or in a physical store), please contact the retailer for assistance and return instructions. We are unfortunately unable to return these items for you. This includes any merchandise that is defective, damaged, or incomplete.
In the event that the retailer is unable to help you, or no longer carries the item in question, please contact us for assistance. At this time, we are unable to send replacement product for outside purchases without at least two of the three following “proofs of purchase”:
- Return of defective product
- Paper or email receipt scanned or mailed to RoomMates customer service
- UPC barcode removed from package and mailed to RoomMates customer service
Please contact us prior to sending in any proofs of purchase so that we may issue an RA number. If you choose to mail your defective product to us, we will arrange for a pre-paid UPS label to be sent to cover the cost of the return.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Again, we urge you to contact the retailer from which you purchased your RoomMates in order to return any defective or damaged items. Please only contact us for assistance if the retailer is unable to help you. Thank you!
Wallpaper Return Policy
RoomMates accepts wallpaper returns and exchanges made within 30 days of purchase. All returned wallpaper must be in the form of unused and unopened double rolls. We do not accept returns of single rolls or opened double rolls at this time. Please follow the return instructions above to return excess wallpaper to us. Your return must be accompanied by the original invoice and a valid return authorization (RA) number. Credit will be issued minus a 25% restocking fee, return freight fees (where applicable), and original shipping and handling charges.
Custom Wall Decals
Due to their unique nature, RoomMates does not accept returns of custom wall decals. We strive to print all custom items exactly as they appear on your screen. Please ensure that your custom design(s) are of the appropriate color(s), use proper spelling and grammar, and contain all desired elements before submitting your order. Returns will not be accepted in the event of a spelling error, improper color selection, or quality problems caused by user-submitted images (ex. blurriness, pixelation, or artifacts). A replacement will be issued free of charge in the event of a manufacturing defect or extensive shipping damage.
